USHA Team Selection Process Summary
Key Definitions
- Sanctioned Event
- A USHA approved and scheduled competition that follows USHA Rules and Directives, August 2021.
- Selection Match

A single race within a Sanctioned Event.
- Typically two per event, Saturday and Sunday.
- Clubs may hold one Selection Match and one fun match, alternate rules.
- Eligibility: Shooters must complete 7 Selection Matches at a minimum of 3 different venues.
- Membership Requirement
- Only USHA members in good standing, waiver signed, contact info and year of birth on file, will have their scores counted.
Scoring and Rankings
Event Weight Factor, EWF: Based on the number of shooters in a match, the same factor applies to all shooters in that match.

Qualifying Points, QP: Equal to finishing place, 1st equals 1 point, 2nd equals 2 points, and so on.
Match Points, MP: MP = QP × EWF
Total Match Points, TMP: Sum of the shooter’s lowest 7 MPs in the season.
Ranking System: Members are ranked by TMP for Open Class Rankings, then sub ranked into Men, Women, Junior, Senior, Veteran, and Master classes.
USHA Team Standings: Published after at least 7 selection matches and updated after each event.
Note: The USHA Board may adjust the process to resolve ties or other unforeseen issues.
Team Selection
- Top 5 shooters are selected annually in each category, Men, Women, Junior, Senior, Veteran, Master.
- Each team consists of 3 Primary Members and 2 Alternates.
- Only Primary Members are subsidized, as funds allow.
- If a shooter declines a berth, the next eligible shooter is offered the slot until the team is filled.

- $1,000 travel subsidy
