UNITED STATES HELICE ASSOCIATION NATIONAL TEAM: 2011

2011 Men's World Helice Champions

World Champions

The 2011 US National Team went to Seville, Spain the first week of April for the 2011 World Championships and came home winners!

The event — using three layouts — was hosted in a brand new club located on the outskirts of Seville.

Our national team represented itself in spectacular style, nabbing not only the individual championship (won by Rick Mein), but the team title as well.

A high point in Rick Mein's championship performance came following his 25 for 25 run in the main round, which found him tied with a shooter from the Spanish team.  The individual championship was decided in a 10-bird shoot-off, with Mein killing all 10 and nudging past the Spaniard who missed two.

The team championship also pitted the U.S. versus home team Spain, and also came down to a tense 6-bird shoot-off.  Following a 53 for 60 run in the main round, the US Team clinched the championship with a 6 for 6 shoot-off, with Spain going 5 for 6.

Congratulations to the Men's National Team for a job well done!
